Carolinas Metro Reds and UDACF have come together to form Knothole, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, incorporated in the State of North Carolina. These organizations are led by former MLB players, whose love for the game of baseball is exceeded only by their passion for serving Charlotte's youth.

Knothole is a not-for-profit public benefit corporation organized for public and charitable purposes. Knothole is a collaboration of the U Deserve A Chance Foundation (“UDACF”) and the Carolinas Metro Reds (“CMR”), two organizations sharing similar missions of creating opportunities for disadvantaged youth and positively impacting the West Charlotte community.

Knothole is spearheading a community outreach initiative to re-develop a former Optimist Club site directly across the street from West Mecklenburg High School in the heart of West Charlotte, into a state-of-the-art, multi-field athletic and academic complex. Following completion, Knothole will utilize the redeveloped project as “home base” to drive transformative programming to the underserved youth in the West Charlotte area. Numerous partner organizations will participate, including Queens University of Charlotte (“Queens”), whose student/athletes, faculty, staff and coaches will participate in the ongoing mentoring of youth, maintaining of facilities, and provision of tutoring and academic counseling.
